SCIM API
The SCIM API connects your identity provider to Knak so user accounts are created and deactivated automatically as people join, move, and leave.
The API follows the SCIM 2.0 standard, so it works with the identity provider your organization already runs — no custom user management build required.
What it does
This API improves your marketing workflow by keeping Knak accounts in step with your identity provider:
- Provision users automatically: Create Knak accounts from your IdP as people are added to the right group, without a manual request to your Knak admin.
- Deactivate on departure: Remove access the moment someone leaves, so offboarding happens once and applies everywhere.
- Keep one source of truth: Manage membership in the system your IT team already governs and let Knak follow it.
- Support your SSO rollout: Pair automated provisioning with the single sign-on your security team requires.
Key features
- SCIM 2.0 standard: Works with any identity provider that supports the protocol, using https://enterprise.knak.io/scim/v2 as the base URL.
- Email as the identifier: The SCIM userName attribute maps to the user's Knak email address.
- Scoped to provisioning: SCIM handles creating and deactivating users; profile and role changes are made in Knak.
