- Does Knak send SMS or RCS messages?
- No. Mobile Message Builder produces, governs, reviews, approves, and exports the message. SMS exports as text and RCS exports as a ZIP with text and a JSON payload, which you send through your existing platform.
- What is the difference between SMS and RCS?
- SMS is plain text with a character limit. RCS is a richer format that supports images, buttons, cards, and branding, rendered natively in the messaging app. RCS is why mobile messages now needs design and review the way email does.
- Can I build RCS rich cards in Knak?
- Yes. Images, rich cards, and link or phone buttons are supported at launch, with carousels and further card types following.
- What does the authoring experience actually give me?
- Character counts as you write, merge tags, link and phone button options, optimization rules, collaboration comments, and version history. The same working surface as the email builder, applied to a mobile message.
- How do mobile messages get approved?
- Through the same approval routing as your email and landing pages. You define who signs off and in what order, and the message cannot be exported until those approvals are complete. The routing produces the audit trail as a by‑product.
- Does this help with SMS compliance?
- Knak gives you an approval trail and a record of who reviewed and approved each message, which is the part most teams are missing. Consent capture and record keeping under TCPA, GDPR, and equivalent regimes stay with your sending platform and your legal team.
- Can I preview a message on a real device before it goes out?
- Yes. True‑to‑device preview is included at launch, so a reviewer approves what will actually render rather than a description of it.
- Can mobile messages be translated?
- Yes. Translation runs on the approved message the same way it runs on email, so every market works from one source.
- Which sending platforms does it work with?
- At launch, any platform that accepts a text or JSON payload, because the handoff is an export. Direct integrations with SFMC, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Braze, Iterable, and CPaaS providers including Twilio, Sinch, and Infobip are on the roadmap.
- Is it available now?
