Once every so often you try a new technology that really blows your mind.

That happened to me when I used an iPhone touchscreen for the first time. I recognized immediately that I was experiencing something new, something exciting, a real game-changer.

I got that same thrill of excitement when I test-drove the generative AI version of Knak we have just launched.

To say that I was blown away by its capabilities is an understatement. The new generative AI version of Knak is even better than I had dared hope, able to produce agency-quality emails in the blink of an eye.

Our new version of Knak is, I am convinced, a game-changer for marketers. Here’s why I think everyone should try it.

I was an early convert to artificial intelligence. Once I saw what AI could do, I became convinced that it would change the world. And as I explained a few months ago, I was determined that Knak would become an AI company.

An AI platform that thinks like a marketer

I became convinced of that the first time I used our finished product.

To test-drive its capabilities, I decided to create an email that would promote the event we were doing in conjunction with OpenAI to launch our new AI product.

To create that email, I fed KnakAI the following information:

  • An email I had in my inbox promoting Dreamforce (a recent Salesforce event);
  • A link to our launch event landing page, which we had already created;
  • A 20-page brief our marketing team had already prepared for the launch; and
  • A prompt saying what I wanted, which was an invitation to the launch event. I explained that KnakAI should look at the brief and the landing page for content, and use the Dreamforce email as inspiration for look, layout and style.

Then I hit go.

The brief did not give any instructions as to what should be in the email. It just contained information about the event – date, time, the program, a list of speakers, etc.

KnakAI went through all of this and decided on its own what copy to generate, and which speakers and parts of the program to highlight.

Seconds later, I had my email!

Everyone who has ever worked with me knows I have very high standards. They know to expect plenty of revisions.

What KnakAI came up with was very, very impressive.

On content, I had very little feedback to give; honestly, it got 90 or 95% there on the first try.

And on speed? I did in seconds something that would have taken me two or three hours – and I work pretty fast.

I found that pretty amazing!

So I gave it another challenge.

We had a live campaign where a lot of the assets had already been built.

I gave KnakAI two things: the URL of the campaign’s landing page, and the screenshot of an email that was our best-performing event registration email ever.

In the prompt, I asked it to write an invitation based on the landing page, and to make the invitation similar to the email I had attached.

Once again, the result was both super-quick and bang-on.

KnakAI returned exactly what I wanted: an email using the brand voice that had worked so well in that top-performing email.

What this showed me is that KnakAI thinks like a marketer. It makes decisions like a marketer and is able to deliver something that’s pretty much good to go on the first try.

And you don’t even have to be a marketer with 20 years of experience (like me!) to get great results.

To test it further, we did a session where we had everyone across the entire company try KnakAI – not just marketers but developers, engineers and finance people.

We found that even people who are not usually building marketing emails were able to get agency-quality results effortlessly.

And they got them very, very quickly.

As a team, we created 423 quality emails in just 90 minutes.

Anyone in marketing will know how impressive that is!

I was also impressed at how creative our people were in using KnakAI.

For example Brendan Farnand, our Co-Founder and Chief Evangelist, took a transcript from a meeting he’d just attended and asked KnakAI to create a summary that could be emailed to the meeting participants.

With just that simple information and a link to the recording of the meeting, KnakAI was able to create a perfectly laid-out, on-brand email summarizing the meeting’s highlights.

That summary was sent out later that day. KnakAI had saved Brendan hours of work.
